I'm Shakima, a current Graduate student (Social Work) at Florida State University and American Olympic Athlete. While acquiring my B.S.Ed (Community and Applied Psychological Studies) I developed an interest in Mental health and community advocacy. I've had the opportunity to intern and volunteer for various non-profit organizations and community programs. I've taken on the role as mentor, data analyst, and assistant to board members. Currently, I'm an accomplished 2x World Gold medalist for the U.S track and field team. As I plan to close that chapter soon,  I look forward to merging both of those worlds and use the skills I acquire to advocate and be of service to others.
